Gorilla Warfare

By will
on Aug 18, 08

As the Summer nears the end, it’s becoming time to move from pale beers to darker beers like porters and stouts. One of the best porters you can find in the area is the Sixpoint Gorilla Warfare Porter. This beer is made “with an insane amount of fresh, locally-roasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans from Gorilla… the beer not only has the aroma of raspberries, coffee, and fresh-baked bread, but it actually has the tawny-beige head of a fresh brewed cup of coffee… Medium to full-bodied and wickedly full of flavor, you can’t tell if you’re drinking a great local craft beer or an amazing cup of locally roasted coffee.” For those who like coffee-tasting beers, this is an incredibly smooth, flavorful, and strong beer to get you ready for the Fall.

The Kings of Beer Menu Updates: July

By will
on Aug 01, 08

Once again, a big thank you to the bars that updated their beer menus most often in July: Blind Tiger, Cherry Tree Bar, East Village Tavern, Wholefoods Bowery Beer Room, Puck Fair, and Westside Brewing. Thank you all for helping the craft beer community in NYC and for making it easier to find great beer.

Blind Tiger has an influx of new beers on tap every Wednesday for their brewery events. They continue to add more new beers to BeerMenus than any other bar.

Cherry Tree Bar has nearly 100 bottles and 25 taps with stand-out beers for hop heads like the Rogue I2PA and Avery Maharaja on tap.

East Village Tavern offers a rotating selection of American draft lines that includes many of the small guys who others may overlook. Make sure to check out their happy hour which, among other things, offers the cheapest glass of Dogfish 90 Minute in NYC.

Wholefoods Bowery Beer Room continues to offer rotating growlers of regional beer at the best price in town. They also have tasting events like the Victory event coming up.

Puck Fair continues to offer outstanding beers like the Magic Hat Braggot which is a honey ale mead.

Westside Brewing Co.- helps the Upper West Siders out with stand-outs like the Blue Point Sour Cherry Imperial Stout

We hope you check out all these bars and reward them for making sure you know exactly what beers they offer.

Many thanks,
The BeerMenus team
