East Village Tavern, American for Beer

I recently had the pleasure of wetting my whistle at a brand new bar, the "East Village Tavern":http://www.beermenus.com/east-village-tavern. With 16 rotating craft beer taps meticulously picked by co-owner Bill Mack, the bar clearly means business when it comes to great craft beer. The tavern focuses on American craft beer, offering great brews from all over the country in all different styles.

The East Village Tavern crafted an impressive menu, brilliantly pairing each dish with a beer. Try "Troeg's Dreamweaver Wheat":http://www.beermenus.com/beers/troegs-dreamweaver-wheat, a wheat beer brewed in Harrisburg, Pa, which pairs perfectly with the baby arugula salad that has golden beets, hazelnut crusted goat cheese, and pomegranate vinaigrette. What's better than a Dogfish Head 90 Minute on tap? A Dogfish Head 90 Minute paired with "grown up grilled cheese" that has farmhouse cheddar, country ham, apple, onion, and dijon. I highly recommend the "East Village Tavern":http://www.beermenus.com/east-village-tavern.

I went to the East Village Tavern yesterday for Happy Hour. Awesome. All drafts are $3 from 4-7. That includes the big boys Old Rasputin, Weyerbacher Double Simcoe, and Dogfish 90. Bartender Sal was very knowledgeable and friendly. I ate the braised shortrib sandwich with fontina and horseradish which went perfectly with the Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. I also highly reccomend this place if you are into great food and beer.

We were there last Friday for dinner and enjoyed it so much we went back for more on Saturday. The lobster roll is phenomenal - all lobster, no mayo, who could ask for anything more decadant on a hot dog bun? The beer selection was well balanced, plenty for any pallate to choose from and how can you beat a $3 draft! We will definitely be heading back there.

Terrific new place! Went last weekend at the recommendation of a friend "in the know" and had a great time. The food was excellent and the beer specials were impressive and well thought out. I will definitely go back, and would definitely recommend this place to friends and colleagues.

Been to East Village Tavern a couple of times and have left very impressed. Possibly the best value food in the City - NYC quality but not NYC prices. Additionally, they have one of the most extensive microbrew selections that I have seen in some time; really cool, off-the-beaten-path variety.

Sidenote: Above and beyond the fact the place is pristine clean, they have three bathrooms. You never have to wait in line!

I live on Ave C aand I've been waiting for a place like this to open up for years. Friendly staff, and a menu that compliments the impressive beer list. I haven't found a beer or a menu item that wasn't excellent. Keep up the great work guys.

i went to the east village tavern recently when attending a show, and was super impressed with the craft beer selection, not your average run of the mill stuff. being somewhat of a beer expert myself, there was even a few i had not tried. i highly recommend it to all!

I GOTTA TELL YOU I'VE EATEN MAYO BY THE GALLON AT ALMOST EVERY BAR IN NYC AND THEIR MAYO IS BY FAR THE BEST. I HEAR ITS MADE FROM A SECRET SAUCE PROVIDED BY THE OLD GIGALO TOD THE GOD FREDICKSON (MANY OF YOU REMEMBER HIM AS THE HOTTEST BARTENDER IN NYC 1966-1971)
